I started in sales and management back in 1983 managing an auto body and paint shop in California.
In 1986 I was invited by my father John Platt to come work for him at Platt & Associates. I was given an opportunity as a broker and as you can see, I took that opportunity and ran. After three months, I was carrying my own weight and have grown from there.
In July of 2001 I purchased Platt & Associates from my father, and soon after implemented a dispatching program that greatly improved the service we are able to provide to our customers and carriers today. I look forward to continuing to improve and expand our business to even better our services to our customers and carriers. I also look forward to expanding and continuing the working and personal relationships that I have been able to enjoy in the past with both shippers and carriers.
I want to give a special thanks to my father John Platt for giving me the opportunity in this industry.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife Lori, listening to my daughter Ashley playing her violin, coaching my son Tyler’s baseball team as well as my daughter Courtney’s softball team, fishing, hunting, boating, and traveling.
After four months of studying, I became a Certified Transportation Broker on 04/28/06.

I started working for Platt & Associates back in 1993; when my son was born in 1994, I decided to leave Platt & Associates to work out of my home. The work I did ranged from becoming a licensed day care provider to manufacturing and distributing candles.
In November 2005, I started working back at Platt & Associates. I enjoy working here, and it gives me more time to spend with my awesome husband/boss. My most rewarding job, though, is being a mom. I enjoy spending time with my kids who are all very talented. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, boating, and working out at the gym.

Certified Transportation Broker
I have been involved in the trucking industry, in one position or another since 1963. I started as a dockworker, and held most jobs up to and including terminal manager. I have been with Platt and Associates since 1991, and have thoroughly enjoyed my relatonship with customers and trucking companies alike. I have been married to the same great lady since 1964, and have two married children and we have 8 grandsons so far. I served 29 years with the National Guard, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. I enjoy my work with Platt and Associates and look forward to many more years.
I have successfully completed the Certified Transportation Broker accreditation course, to help both me and my company. I enjoy family, yard work, reading, and church/volunteer work in my free time.

I joined Platt and Associates as their Accounting Manager in December 2007. I moved from Idaho to Utah and was looking for a quality company to work for. Lori and Mark Platt demonstrated this as I spoke with them about their company, what is taking place now, and their plans for the future. I am happy to say that I made an excellent choice coming to work for Platt and Associates, Inc. They are a quality business that stands by their word, and practices customer and employee satisfaction. I not only feel like a team member here but I also feel like part of a family. We work together to give the best service we can and I believe that is why Platt and Associates has been around for so long and is a continually growing and developing company.
In my spare time I enjoy running, rock climbing, hiking, and skiing on Utah snow. I also enjoy continuing my education by taking accounting and business classes and attending seminars that would better my skills in accounting and bookkeeping.

I started working at Platt & Associates the summer after my 8th grade year. I worked every summer until I graduated from high school in June 2005. Now I work part-time year round when I’m not at school. I’m attending the university and pursuing a degree in music (I’ve been playing the violin since I was nine).
In my spare time I do homework, practice my violin (wait, that’s still homework), hang with friends, and try to catch up on my sleep.

Certified Transportation Broker
I was a jack of all trades in the construction and mechanical industry for 10 years before joining my brother and father at Platt & Associates in 2003. I have been working side by side with John for the last 3 years, extensively learning the ropes of the industry. I plan to continue with Platt & Associates and grow with the company until retirement.
Outside of work, I like camping, hiking, fishing and playing sports with my family.

For the past 33 years, I have worked for class 1 motor carriers and brokerage companies in the flatbed and heavy haul area of transportation. I have a great working knowledge of the field and I have maintained an excellent reputation of honesty and integrity throughout my career. I came on board with Platt & Associates in 2003. I love it here and plan to retire with the company.
In my spare time, I enjoy woodworking and vegetable gardening.

Certified Transportation Broker I have worked in transportation since 1995. I started in brokerage then moving into dispatch and fleet management with other trucking companies.
Since becoming a member of Platt & Associates I have enjoyed a stable work environment and plan on retiring with the company. Platt & Associates is a very respected transportation firm, and I am proud to be a part of the Platt team. I enjoy travel and shooting trap. I also like relaxing and working in my yard.

I had the privilege of starting Platt & Associates in November 1986, after 19 years of experience in the Heavy Haul trucking industry. After experiencing the ups and downs of starting and running a brokerage business, and being able to train my sons and others in that business for the next 15 years, I sold Platt & Associates to my son Mark in July of 2001.
Mark has made many great improvements in how the business is run today, and he still maintains the Honesty and Integrity upon which Platt & Associates was founded. I continued to work for Mark on a commission basis until January, 2006, when my wife Carol and I were privileged to accept a mission call to serve in New Zealand for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the next 23 months.
I have had the opportunity to develop many personal relationships with both customers and carriers over the years and appreciate their continued support while we are away on our mission. Upon our return in December 2008, I plan to return to Platt & Associates and help in whatever capacity will continue the growth of the company.

I am the most recent addition to Platt & Associates. My background is in sales and has been for the past 11 years. I have been a manager in both the retail industry as well as an account manager with a major LTL freight carrier. I now look forward to working in a transportation brokerage company that values honesty, innovation and hard work and provides the tools to be successful. The company culture here makes it a great place to work. I am tasked with being a face in the field to customers and for “drumming up business” as well as providing support to existing customers. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Carrie, and my sons Sean and Zachary. I enjoy playing golf, fishing, and playing the piano, (the last one is the only one I am good at). Thanks for letting me serve you.

I accepted a position will Platt & Associates, Inc February 2009. I guess one could say my career in Transportation started in 1973 after leaving California for a trip to SD I arrived in Utah with a broken motorcycle my sister lives here and here it starts. I started in warehousing then on to Truck driving all over the great U.S. After 10 years of driving I went into operations .I was given the opportunity to broker freight in 1994 and with my transportation experience I excelled. I wanted to increase revenue as well have more tools available and be more successful at Platt & Associates I have been given both.
I still enjoy riding motorcycles with my friends and family, bbq's and all the other rewards life has to offer.
